An adaptation of an Indian Proverb, which can be traced back before 1896, expresses the love from the planter of the tree for those to come long after they have been gone. Servitude and love , are preserved in both the act described and the image that graces this tile. The inspiration for this art piece was from a conversation that was had bybthe artist and her co worker, in which the artist quoted Christopher Gibson's sermon circa 1990s in which he stated , "to be Christlike is to be a servant.
